AI Notes Generator
Structured notes from your chats, readings, and messy drafts.
Turn a chat where you finally understood a topic into a clean, structured note. Write and organize unlimited notes with markdown, math, and diagrams — and generate flashcards or quizzes from any note when it's time to review.
How it works
Capture understanding where it happens
You work through a confusing topic in chat — the AI explains, you ask follow-ups, it clicks. Generate a note from that conversation and the explanation that worked for you is saved in your words and structure.
Write and organize by course
Notes support markdown, LaTeX math, and Mermaid diagrams, organized under your courses. Handwritten pages can be photographed and converted to text with built-in OCR.
Make notes do something
A note that's never reopened is a diary entry. Generate flashcards or a quiz from any note, so what you wrote becomes what you review.
Resurface at review time
Your Daily Plan links back to relevant notes when a topic comes up for review, so the context you wrote is there when the flashcard alone isn't enough.
Where it shines
- Saving chat explanations that finally made a topic click
- Course notes with real math notation instead of mangled plain text
- Condensing a unit into a review sheet before an exam
- STEM classes where diagrams and formulas matter
What it won't do
- It doesn't record or transcribe live lectures. It structures material you give it — chats, drafts, text. For live capture you'd pair it with a recording tool.
- Generated notes are a starting structure, not a finished study product. Notes work because writing them forces processing — keep doing the writing part.
- If your whole workflow lives in a connected-notes tool like Obsidian or Notion, Fennie won't replace that graph — its notes are built for studying, not for personal knowledge management.

Frequently asked questions
Does it take notes during lectures?
No — there's no live audio recording or transcription. Fennie is for what happens after class: structuring what you learned, saving explanations from chat, and turning notes into review material. If you need lecture transcription, use a capture tool for that and bring the output into Fennie.
Won't AI-generated notes make me learn less?
If you generate notes and never process them, yes — the learning is in the processing. The workflow that works: use generation to structure and format, then edit, condense, and generate review material from it. The tool saves you formatting time, not thinking time.
What formats do notes support?
Markdown with LaTeX math rendering (KaTeX) and Mermaid diagrams — so derivations, chemical equations, and flowcharts render properly instead of living as ASCII art.
Can I search my notes?
Basic organization and browsing are free. Semantic search — finding a note by meaning rather than exact words, across notes and chats — is a premium feature.
